SLAM is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts and art education in the state, in a manner that enriches and involves the community.
The 2019 Summer SLAM Festival will take place August 3rd & 4th, 2019 at Bogert Park, in Bozeman, MT. Artists will be selected to participate based on quality and originality of their craft. Participants of the SLAM Festival must be current Montana residents.
The application fee for the festival is $20 per application and is non-refundable. Applications are due April 1, 2019 at midnight. Notification of acceptance will be e-mailed on or before April 30, 2019. We will keep a wait list of artists to fill spaces in the event of cancellation by invited artists.
The booth fee for invited artists is $275 and is due upon invitation. Invited artists will be required to sign a contract. Booth fees and signed contracts must be received no later than May 17th, 2019. If we have not received your contract and payment by May 17th, your booth will be reassigned to an artist from the wait list. Booth cancellations after June 15th will not receive a refund.
All applications will be reviewed by a selection committee. The committee will consist of artists and community members. Applicants receiving the highest scores in each medium will be invited to participate in the festival. If the work submitted in the application process is inconsistent in quality, medium, or style with the artwork displayed at the show, you may be asked to leave and you will forfeit all payments.
All art must be created and represented by the artist. Limited reproductions are allowed. No Buy-Sell or Kit manufactured work is allowed at this festival, and you may not display the work of any other artist, with the exception of art guilds.
Established guilds consisting of more than one artist may apply in a single application. You may only display work in the medium category in which you have applied. If you plan on exhibiting work in more than one category, please fill out a separate application for each medium category. No booth sharing (with the exception of guilds) will be allowed at the festival.
Participants must provide their own tent with walls, tie downs, and display materials. Booth spaces are 10' x 10'. A limited number of double booths (10' of park frontage by 20' in depth) are available for $425. These spaces will be assigned in order of receipt of payment from invited artists who request a double booth on their application. This show is located in a park, and booth spaces may not be completely level. All invited artists must be present at the event for the entire duration of the festival.
Participants are encouraged to carry their own event insurance.
